1. How do I apply?

Review the “Vacancy Info” section under the employment tab.

2. Will I receive a reply to my submission?

If you meet the basic requirements of the job posting, you will receive a response.


3. What are the basic requirements?

Requirements

  • Native speakers of English, unless applying for an Arabic, Islamic Studies, or other language position
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited North American university
  • Teaching licensure, endorsement or certification from a North American jurisdiction
  • Two-years of teaching experience
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Background check

Preferred attributes

  • International teaching experience
  • IB experience and training

4. Does AIS recruit singles, teaching couples and families?

Yes. AIS recruits from all three groups.

Upon being hired at AIS, families and couples will be required to provide a marriage license and birth certificates of children.

We do not consider couples with one spouse who would not work at AIS in a teaching or leadership role.


5. Does AIS recruit native speakers of English from countries other than the USA and Canada?

Teachers of other nationalities are employed at AIS, yet preference is given to North American trained teachers.


6. Are there restrictions on working permits?

Yes. There are health related requirements, so being in good health is important.


7. Do you offer one-year contracts?

No.
